Arts and Education PROGRAMMING

As part of its Art and Education focus, VCWL has hosted numerous events at the laundromat including educational workshops, job fairs, and community art events including sock puppet making as part of this year’s South End Art Hop that was attended by nearly 40 individuals. Most recently,  VCWL began an ambitious 10 part financial literacy series for New Americans in partnership with CVOEO’s Community Ambassador and Financial Futures programs. Each stand alone event is designed to be around an hour in length and features a translated presentation on credit building and personal finance, all while receiving a free load of laundry (the first 4 events were presented in Somali, Mandarin, Swahili, and Spanish respectively).
